This exhibition poster is a celebration of craft and technology where rather than utilising injets or offset plates, cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK) threads have been sewn directly onto paper, layered and overlapped to replicate the digital printing process. Where two colours cross, the threads blend optically creating new hues that echo the broad spectrum achievable in digital print. When viewed up close you can appreciate the tactile nature of the threads and the tiny imperfections of the needlework while from afar these same stitches resolve into rich composite tones. The poster was created as part of my studies at London College of Communication.
